Dr. Rev. Tharwat Kadis, Chairman of the Board of dialogues and ecumenical relations at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Egypt, told Copts United that the Church discusses the priesthood of women and their ordination as priests one May 16.
He added that the Evangelical Synod of the Nile is going to cast their vote on that decision after discussing it inside the different committees.
The ordination of women in Protestant churches has often been carried out in light of the theological doctrine of the priesthood of all believers, which might include women if the expression is taken in a very literal sense.
