Presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabbahi said he will contact different political parties, including the Salafist Nour Party, in a Thursday statement to Youm7.
The founder of the Popular Current Movement said he will also contact the parties that announced their support for other candidates.
“I realize that a large number of youth affiliating to the different parties want to support me during the presidential election despite the decisions taken by their parties. I will contact with them to present my platform.” he said.
Sabbahi added that he will only talk with parties who view the January 25 Revolution as a revolution, not a conspiracy and June 30 as a revolution, not a military coup.
However, Head of the High Authority of the Nour Party Tarek el-Sahry told Youm7 Thursday that Sabbahi did not yet ask to meet party leaders to present his election platform.
He added that the Salafist Call will hold meetings with all presidential nominees once the window for announcing presidential bids closes.
Sahry said the party will choose the nominee that has a platform that is coherent with the party’s standards.
