South Africa considers Egyptian cooperation to declare MB terrorist group

South Africa seeks to declare the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist group during the next few days, through cooperating with the Egyptian government to delineate the required procedures, said the South African Minister of State Security Siyabonga Cwele Monday.

During a press conference held at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry, Cwele added that South Africa is committed to cooperating with the security agencies regarding the exchange of information about terrorist cells.

Cwele denied rumors that the South African delegation to Cairo met with Muslim Brotherhood leaders, noting that he is a personal envoy of the South African President.

He added that he discussed with the Egyptian side the roadmap and Egypt’s return to the African Union. A report is to be submitted to the leaders of the African Union regarding Egypt’s return to the union, continued Cwele.
