The Dissident Muslim Brotherhood (MB) Coalition called on interim President Adly Mansour to conduct a referendum on reconciliation with the Muslim Brotherhood, according to a statement issued Sunday by the coalition. The Dissident Muslim Brotherhood (MB) Coalition called on interim President Adly Mansour to conduct a referendum on reconciliation with the Muslim Brotherhood, according to a statement issued Sunday by the coalition.

The coalition welcomed all views on its initiative, which calls for reconciliation between the group and the government, and asked the government put the initiative to a vote rather than pushing forward with failed negotiations.

“The Egyptian people are the only ones who have the right to reject the initiative,” the statement said, adding that the coalition is seeking to communicate with everyone, including the government and the Brotherhood.

It said political forces have to respect the initiative in order to stop bloodshed.

Additionally, the Dissident Muslim Brotherhood Youth Coalition has announced the formation of a council for reconciliation between the Brotherhood and the government in an attempt to resolve the current crisis and conduct negotiations between the group and the government. It has also met with a number of the Brotherhood leaders to discourage them from escalation.
