Executive Director of Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation (MYF), Anissa Essam, is on the list of the 100 most powerful Arabic women, announce by Arabian Business magazine.
This is the fourth list compiled by the magazine, with a record of the most influential women in the Arab World, based on the different ways in which they have affected society.
Essam began her career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, before moving on to the Arab League, and then becoming the General Manager of Egypt’s International Economic Forum.
She is the first woman to be elected as Secretary General of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs, and she is a member of the American Chamber of Commerce. Further, she is also one of the founders of Think Tank for Arab Women (TTFAW), which is an independent network of women activists.
A celebration of the list will be held in Dubai on March 12, under the sponsorship of Lubna Khalid Al-Qasimi, Minister for Foreign Trade in United Arab Emirates, who came at the top of the list.
