Association of protectors of the faith has issued a statement to refuse the new recipe to make Chrism oil that was accepted by Pope Tawadros II.
It explained that the old recipe was part of the old traditions of the Coptic Orthodox Church, while the new recipe is but a chemical process ignoring the old ritual and traditions.
It expressed its fears that the Church has decided to give up its traditions to imitate other churches seeking unity with them at the expense of our history and traditions!
