Security officials, leaders and clergy in Diabia village, Beni Suef, held today a reconciliation meeting between Muslims and Coptic Christians in order to discuss solutions to escalating violence against the Copts in the village.
Problems between Muslims and Copts have dramatically escalated after repeated attacks on Copts, including setting 5 huts on fire and attacking Coptic driver causing him severe injuries for no good reason.
It’s worth mentioning that Diabia village had witnessed sectarian violence on 11 August, in which Coptic houses and church were broken into and looted, and 20 Copts were injured.
