Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See, has explained the new way to make Chrism oil which will be used next week at the Monastery of St. Bishoy in Wadi Natrun.
Pope added that there are no changes in the rituals, but the new way depends mainly on bringing ready-made oils and perfumes which saves time and effort, and brings better results.
He said in his weekly sermon that the holy Chrism oil consists of 27 aromatic substances in addition to pure olive oil. During 2000 years, it was made only 35 times, which makes it unusual event.
