Security forces fired tear gas at female students protesting at Al-Azhar University Tuesday, reported Youm7.
Students tried to cut off Mostafa Al-Nahas Street in Nasr City, but they retreated to the female dormitory after security forces used tear gas to suppress their demonstration, according to a Youm7 reporter.
The female students staged the protest to demand the release of detained students during previous protests at Al-Azhar University.
UPDATE: Five female students at Al-Azhar University were injured after security forces dispersed the group on Mostafa el-Nahhas Street after police shot warning shots and tear gas.
