Copts and Easter

Easter is the great feast celebrated by the Coptic Christians in Egypt. There are seven Major Feasts of the Lord: The Annunciation (Paramhat 29), The Nativity of Christ (Christmas, Kiahk 29), The Theophany or the Baptism of Christ (Tuba 11), Palm Sunday, The Feast of the Resurrection, Ascension and Pentecost

The Feast of the Resurrection: It is preceded by the Great Lent (55 days) and is considered by the Coptic Church as “The Feast”. These 55 days include the Holy Week. On the last day before the feast of the Resurrection, Copts celebrate the "Joyous Saturday" or "the Saturday of Light" in which the Holy Light comes out of Jesus Christ's tomb, which is aired by many television channels.

2000 years ago at the same place, the angel said to the women following Christ, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. "He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying. "Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you."…

Jesus has risen to overcome death and give us victory over it. Therefore, many people all over the world visit His empty tomb as pilgrims offering their love and presents.

I pray that Egypt, and all humanity, enjoy the Resurrection of Jesus Christ and get rid of evil to find all peace and good.
