Funeral of Milad Sadik, also known as Milad Kasies, has turned into a demonstration against escalating religious persecution and discrimination in Minya governorate.
Milad was killed in sectarian violence at the Evangelical church in Mallawy incited by a fanatic man who belongs to the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group. He claimed that “Christians overcame Muslims”, which was enough to incite the clashes and kill the innocent man.
It’s worth mentioning that Milad’s brother was also killed few months ago in a demonstration by the Muslim Brotherhood in Minya.
George William, head of Copts’ coalition in Minya, said that such sectarian incidents had ruined the feast, after the church was ruined last year in the attacks.
He added that Copts are severely oppressed and persecuted, but the state never protects the Copts or punish the persecutors.
