The Bandar Kafr al-Sheikh district court, headed by Judge Ali Barg, handed 17-year sentences to 12 Muslim Brotherhood leaders and sentenced another to 20 years in prison.
Five attended their trial and the rest were tried in absentia. The defendants were charged with disturbing public security, writing offensive phrases to Armed Forces on the wall of the Desouk City railway, possessing seditious leaflets and carrying out violence against the police and citizens of Desouk.
