Minister of Housing and New Urban Communities Mostafa Madbouly said 50,000 housing units for the average and low-income segments are going to be offered in Qaliubiya next week.
“Citizens have the right to a glass of clean water, a good sewage system and a housing unit to shelter them,” the minister said during his inspection tour of Qaliubiya.
He also said that 13,000 land lots for family housing were offered last week through the Housing and Development Bank. “Add to this 1,600 land lots for industrial investment in coordination with the Industrial Development Authority,” he said. “This means 1,600 new factories would be operational by next year.”
He said the ministry is considering housing units ranging between 100 square meters and 140 square meters for middle-income categories. “We are also working with the engineering department of the armed forces on a project of another one million housing units,” he added.
