Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St. Mark See, received yesterday the EU delegation to observe the elections, which included Mr. Robert Goebbels, Mr. Filip Kaczmarek, Mr Jan Brezina, Ms Susy De Martini, Mr Gerrard Quille and Mr. Luca Di Preso.
According to a statement by the Coptic Orthodox Church, they discussed the presidential elections when Pope Tawadros praised the road map that started with s balanced constitution for all Egyptians and now the presidential elections and soon parliamentary elections.
Pope added that the Church only encourages its congregation to participate and cast their votes without directing them to certain presidential candidate.
Pope has also asked the European Union for economical and educational support for Egypt.
