The Journalists Syndicate announced Thursday it detected 43 violations against journalists during the presidential elections.
Violations included the prevention of coverage, threats to prevent coverage, seizing cameras and deleting its contents, seizing identity cards, and referring journalists in two incidents to the public prosecutor, according to the Journalists Syndicate's central task force statement.
The violations also included intransigence by supervisors to hide the low turnout at polling stations, according to the statement, issued Thursday.
The Journalists Syndicate task force has contacted officials and solved most of the problems the journalists faced, the statement said.
The central task force has supervised 26 other minor operation rooms in different governorates, the statement added.
The Journalists Syndicate called on officials, especially security officials to facilitate the task of journalists, and to stop the "continuing intransigence" towards them by some officers and security personnel. It also appealed to journalists and media to adhere to professional standards.
