Three police officers were injured in a targeted explosion south of Sheikh Zuwayed in North Sinai Sunday evening, an official source said.
The source told Youm7 that a team of explosive experts from a department of the Sinai Security Directorate were injured in the explosion, including the head of the department.
All injured were transferred to Arish Military Hospital and were later transferred to the Police Hospital in Cairo by plane.
Sinai security authorities announced a state of emergency following the accident, and arrested 10 suspects.
Recently, a Sheikh Zuwayed road had bombs planted on it by terrorists, the source added.
