Toppled President Mohamed Morsy's lawyer and former presidential candidate Mohamed Selim al-Awa denied news published in a number of newspapers that he possessed documents and videos on Rabaa sit-in dispersal and the data of the security personnel who carried out the operation.
Awa described the circulated news in a statement to Al-Masry Al-Youm as "wholly lie and fabrication," adding he did not make any similar statements at all.
He also mentioned that the statement attributed to him about Morsy's return to power is incorrect.
Al-Shaab newspaper, affiliated with the pro-Morsy Labor Party, said Awa made a statement to the Sky News Arabia Channel where he said he possessed documents and videos about Rabaa sit-in dispersal and the data of officers and security leaders who carried out and supervised the operation, which make it easier to bring them to trial.
