Cairo Criminal Court on Thursday sentenced two supporters of deposed president Mohamed Morsy to 10 years, a third to five years and acquitted two others of charges of burning Heliopolis tramway during protests in 2013.
The court ruled that the defendants must pay LE635,000, the equivalent to the value of properties they were found guilty of damaging.
The prosecution had referred the defendants to trial for their alleged involvement in clashes with police in Heliopolis last November.
Private cars and the tramway were set on fire during the clashes.
Six people were also injured.
