Libyan armed militias are still holding 65 Egyptian truck drivers hostage for the fifth consecutive day in the city of Ajdabiya.
Gamal Oun, spokesperson of the truck drivers trade union of in Kafr al-Zayat, said the militias demand release of Libyan prisoner called Mohamed Salama, who is held in Egypt over accessing the country without permission while possessing unlicensed weapons.
Several incidents of detaining Egyptian drivers have taken place over the past few months, amid security turmoil in Libya and the growing influence of the armed groups since ouster of Libyan leader Mumammar Qadhafi.
The detention of drivers by armed Libyan groups has been consistently tied to demands of releasing Libyan prisoners in Egypt.
In September, Egypt warned the drivers of heading further than the Libyan city of Tubruq.
