Copts in Assiut have been suffering many threats, kill and kidnap, especially the rich merchants. Gangs have been imposing royalties on them and even kill them if they don’t pay.
It’s worth mentioning that about 60.000 Copts have fled the governorate after the royalties imposed reached 600.000 LE.
