Magdy al-Batat, Governor of Beni Suef, and Taher Abdalla, Assistant Secretary of Defense, as well as many officials in Beni Suef have opened the Franciscan school after it was restored and developed by Engineering Authority of the Egyptian army.
Assistant Secretary of Defense said that such ceremony reminds him of the days of his childhood when he was a student at Beni Suef Nuns' school "the Franciscan”. He offered thanks to the governor of Beni Suef for his great support and care.
On his part, Governor of Beni Suef said that the Egyptian armed forces are a shield for the nation in times of war and peace.
It is worth saying that the Franciscan school is the oldest school in Beni Suef serving its people since 1899, including Christians and Muslims.
The school was subject of looting, burning and stealing after the dispersal of Rabaa Adawia and Nahda sit-ins causing losses and great destruction estimated at more than 16 Million LE.
