Clashes erupted in Alexandria on Sunday between supporters and opponents of the Muslim Brotherhood.Police dispersed the two groups, which numbered in the hundreds, who were throwing rocks at each other, Al-Ahram Arabic website reported.
Four pro-Morsi protesters were arrested, and two people were injured in the clashes.
President Mohamed Morsi, a senior member of the Brotherhood, was deposed from office in July 2013.
Clashes also erupted in Alexandria on Saturday, the first day of the Islamic festival of Eid Al-Adha. Police used teargas to quell the violence.
Protests are illegal in Egypt unless pre-approved by the authorities at least three days in advance.
Thousands of Islamists and liberals have been sentenced to prison and received fines for violating the provisions of the protest law, passed in November 2013.
