Egypt condemns execution of 2nd Briton by IS group
Egypt condemned Saturday the execution of British relief worker Alan Henning by the militants of the Islamic State (IS) group in Syria.

“The Egyptian Foreign Ministry expressed with the toughest and hardest words its condemnation and censure on the criminal and brutal killing of the British citizen Alan Henning by the terrorist Daesh group,” the ministry said in a statement on Saturday, using Daesh, the Arabic acronym for IS.

“The incident is barbaric and very brutal, and contradicts with the righteous Islamic religion that disowns it,” the statement read. The Ministry renewed its call for international unity to fight such “terrorism.”

The Al-Qaeda-inspired militants also threatened to execute a man they identified as an American named Peter Kassig if the global war against them does not stop, AP reported.

Previously, on Sep. 14 IS killed British aid worker David Haines, and in similar execution videos from earlier in September and August, it executed U.S. journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff.
