US Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew said the United States will provide Egypt US$200 million to support the economy, without specifying a date or conditions for spending the funds.
At a joint press conference with Finance Minister Hani Qadry Dimian on Monday, Lew said Washington strongly supports the Egyptian economy and discusses with international institutions, such as the World Bank, ways to support small and medium enterprises in Egypt.
Lew also expressed condolences for the families of victims of the terrorist attack that which targeted a military checkpoint in Sinai, adding that the United States condemns the attack.
