The kidnapped Coptic child Kyrolos Ebid was released yesterday after his family paid 50.000 EGP ransom.
The family negotiated the ransom with the kidnappers and paid the money as police were not able to save the child.
The thugs imposing royalties in Shamia village, Sahel Salim, Assiut, had broken into New Testament elementary school with firearms before they kidnap Kyrolos.
It’s worth mentioning that the gang had kidnapped his older brother couple of month ago and released him after paying 50 EGP ransom. The gang had also stolen the cattle of the family before they pay 20 EGP in order to restore them.
Essam Lotfy, a Copt whose brother was killed by the same gang last year, said that the Copts are extremely suffering and police doesn’t move a muscle to keep them safe.
Police have also arrested one member of the gang called Sharara, and the matter is still under investigation.
