St. John the Chrysostom was born in 347 AD. His father was a commander in the Romanian army in Syria. His mother's name is Anthusa; she was beautiful. After about 4 years, his father died, and his mother was left as a beautiful young rich woman. Before the death of the father, he had two kids; a daughter and a son. After the death of the father, the daughter died right after him. In few years, the widow and an orphan remained together. This widow woman, Anthusa, lived her life bringing up this orphan son, John.
She was loyal in bringing him up. When someone proposed to her in order to get married, she refused saying that she is going to live for her son.
John started to excel in studying law; he started to deal with the community till he got a friend whose name is Basil. Both of them loved God, lived in His fear and they started to consecrate their lives to Him. John and Basil; both of them helped each other to live the life of worshipping to God. They consecrated their lives to the Holy Bible; their lives were blessed.
