Abba Paula member of the Holy Synod said that civil marriage is considered fornication by the Church that only accepts marriage as a sacrament.
He added that the new law offers facilitation and solves many problems. It also prevented authorization in marriage and demanded obligatory medical examination before the marriage. He stressed that sexual impotence apply to men and women.
It’s worth mentioning that new reasons for divorce have been included in the new law including hiding illness as well as practical and virtual fornication.
