Morsi to receive verdict in 2012 Ithadeya cases on April 21

Cairo Criminal Court announced it would issue a verdict April 21 in the case of 2012 Ithadeya clashes, in which former President Mohamed Morsi and 14 others are charged, reported Youm7 Thursday.Cairo Criminal Court announced it would issue a verdict April 21 in the case of 2012 Ithadeya clashes, in which former President Mohamed Morsi and 14 others are charged, reported Youm7 Thursday.
 
The expected verdict will just be a primary one and can be appealed before court.
 
The 15 defendants include Mohamed Morsi, former Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie, Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) Chairman Saad Katatni, senior Brotherhood leader Mohamed Beltagy, and FJP Deputy Chairperson Essam el-Erian, among others. Seven of the 14 defendants are being tried in absentia.
 
The prosecution charged the defendants with inciting a number of Muslim Brotherhood members Dec. 5, 2012 to kill and torture protesters in order to disperse a gathering outside the Ithadeya presidential palace by using weapons, ultimately killing 10.
