Dr. Shawki Allam, Egypt’s Mufti, said that the renewal of religious discourse means to take from the fundamentals of Islam what fits our time.
He added that Islam carries with it the curriculum and tools that make it valid for every time and place.
Mufti said that the problem of radical thought is that they try to add to the list of Islamic basics and make the extremist thoughts holy. They hate other people and consider killing them jihad.
The Mufti added that we shouldn’t forget about the importance of spreading the culture of coexistence as well.
