The Constitutional Court decided Tuesday not follow a ruling issued earlier by the Cassation Court which obligates Constitutional Court head Adly Mansour to disclose judges’ salaries, Youm7 reported.
The constitutional court is the only party that may legally issue orders regarding judges and their salaries, pensions or bonuses.
Judges to the Cassation Court had previously demanded their salaries be equal to other judges working in the Constitutional Court, which had not been disclosed, thereby hindering demands for equal pay.
According to Youm7, the Constitutional Court decision Tuesday stated that the Finance Ministry is the only party to which judges should address issues of salary equality, and that the financial allocations of the court is not secret by nature, and is determined by the state’s budget.
The decision clarified further that Mansour as the court’s head, moreover, cannot be considered as defendant in the lawsuit.
