President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi meet Tuesday for the first time with specialists from the economic development council, to discuss preparations for the economic conference scheduled March 13-15 in Sharm el-Sheikh.
A presidential statement stated that the council has been tasked to issue new practical suggestions for reducing the state budget deficit and confronting poverty.
The council was formed in February, along with other 3 councils affiliated to the presidency, and was established to assist in the development of the state’s policy.
Presidency spokesperson Alaa Yousef said President Sisi advised the council to amend investment legislation before the economic development conference.
Small and medium enterprises were also discussed during the meeting as one of the most important means to end unemployment and develop the national economy.
