Gangs specialized in kidnapping of the Copts and imposing royalties in Shamia village have increased their activities recently.A gang led by Ashraf Halaka, has recently kidnapped a Copts demanding one million pound to release him. When his family refused to pay, he was tortured in order to force his family to pay the huge ransom.
Police were reported and the matter is still under investigation.
