Copts in Galaa village, Minya, are waiting for police to convince the extremists to allow rebuilding a church.
Father Dawod Nashed, deputy of Samalout Diocese, said that we’re waiting for police to fulfill their promise, especially as the church is already existing 38 years ago. We only seek a church to pray!
For his part, Isaac Abraham, Coptic activist, said that what is happening in the village is a type of bullying. Unfortunately, the security services are unable to enforce the law or involved in such fanatic action.
He added that Copts have to get the approve of the Muslim majority in order to practice their rights, which is a violation of international human rights standards, the Constitution and the Egyptian Penal Code.
