Three conscripts were killed in an explosion east of al-Arish City in North Sinai on Monday, security sources said.
The explosion left three more security personnel injured, reported the state news agency MENA.
Militancy inside Egypt has seen a significant rise since July 2013, with most attacks targeting security forces in North Sinai.
The Sinai-based militant group Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, Egypt's most notorious militant group, claimed responsibility for most attacks carried out in North Sinai.
Ansar pledged allegiance to Islamic State fighters in Iraq and Syria last November, renaming itself as the "Sinai Province".
Egyptian security forces continuously carry out operations to curb militancy, especially in Sinai.
