An explosion blew up a house in Sinai's Sheikh Zwayed early Saturday, eyewitnesses told Ahram Arabic website.
Explosives were planted by unknown assailants in a house in Hayy El-Tarabeen.
Security forces are currently inspecting the area looking for militants suspected to be behind the attack.
Two suspects were arrested, the Ahram Arabic website confirmed.
Egypt's security forces have been fighting a decade long militant insurgency in Sinai. However, attacks have escalated since the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in July 2013, spreading to the capital and other cities.
