Maj. Gen. Salah Ziada, governor of Minya, and Abba Pfnotios, Bishop of Samalot, laid yesterday the foundation stone of the church of the Martyrs at Awr village where most of the basis of the Church of the martyrs in the village Coptic martyrs of Libya belong.Several officials, Muslim citizens and Christians were happy to attend the celebration.
A presidential decree was issued by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to establish a church in Awr village to honor the Coptic martyrs.
