Dokki Misdemeanor Court sentenced, on Tuesday, the Salafi preacher, Mohamed Abdel Maksoud to 3 years in jail, in the lawsuit submitted against him by lawyer Samir Sabry accusing him of inciting violence.
Sabry submitted videos circulated on the Internet to the public prosecutor, which shows Abdel Maksoud, describing President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi as a "killer" who shed the blood of the Egyptian people, and turned the country into a big prison, treating people worse than colonizers.
Israeli army forces broke up a sit-in for Muslims at Al-Aqsa Mosque, with tear gas and clashed with protesters with their hands, Abdel Maksoud was quoted as saying in the video. The people of Sinai received better treatment under the occupation than under Sisi, he added.
The Israeli forces issued a decision to deport Sheikh Raed Salah from Jerusalem for a period of 6 months, and then he resorted to the judiciary, which canceled the decision, and that is the difference between the Egyptian and Jewish judiciary of the and the difference between the Israeli defense minister and his Egyptian counterpart, he was quoted in the lawsuit.
Abdel Maksoud is Vice Chairman of the Sharia Board of Rights and Reform. He managed to get out of Egypt, following the dispersal of Rabaa al-Adaweya sit-in in mid- August 2013.
