CAIRO-- Egypt Tuesday voiced "full support" with Lebanon against "Israeli violations" following the eruption of a border clash between Lebanon and Israel for the first time in four years.
"Egyppt supports the Lebanese govertnment and is committed to backing the political stability in Lebanon," Egypt's Foreign Minister Ahmed Abul Gheit said during a phone call with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri.
Egypt has called on the US, France and the UN to "immediately interfere" to pressure Israel into exercising self-exercise and refraining from any military escalation. Four Lebanese and one Israeli soldier were killed in Tuesday's clash.
