Security services have seized five tons of explosives in a house in a desert area in Beheira on Thursday morning.Security sources said a bomb had exploded in the house, killing an alleged terrorist and injuring another. Both were wanted by police for allegedly being members of the Muslim Brotherhood, a group now banned by the Egyptian government.
Eyewitnesses said two men fled the scene after the explosion.
Security sources said the house was used to manufacture explosives for terrorist operations.
