Dr. Khaled Montaser, a famous doctor said that there is a norm in the Egyptian universities that prevents Copts from being appointed as professors in Obstetrics and Gynecology department .
He added in a TV program with the interviewer Jaber Al karmouti, that it's hard to believe that the pioneer of this knowledge in Egypt is Dr. Naguib Mahfouz who was Christian and his grandson was not able to enter this department for being Coptic Chrisitan.
Montaser confirmed, that this policy was initiated by the Kasr El Aini, then was moved to the rest of the medical schools in all parts of the republic, and Christian students have to continue their studies abroad, pointing out that this norm is a policy , and not a law.
