Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair arrived in Cairo Sunday in a two-day visit to discuss regional issues with a number of officials, Youm7 reported.
Blair, who was the Quartet Envoy to the Middle EastThe since 2007, announced in May stepping down from his post that involved seeking progress in peace operation between Palestine and Israel.
During the Israeli attack on Gaza in July 2014, Blair had visited Egypt and met with Foreign Ministry Sameh Shoukry to discuss development on the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
During the visit, Blair announced his support for the current government in Egypt to implement the roadmap and to move to a new stage of democracy, according to Al-Ahram.
He was appointed president of the European Council on Tolerance and Reconciliation; an NGO campaigns against religious and political extremism in Europe.
