Around 218 million cubic meters of water-saturated sand have so far been lifted at the new Suez Canal project, said Head of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish.
The figure represents 84.48 percent of the targeted 258 million cubic meters, Mamish added.
Meanwhile, executive director of dredging works at the project Wagdy Zaky said that 38 dredgers are operating in the water way.
