Justice Minister Ahmed al-Zend met with Pope Tawadros II on Monday to discuss the building of churches and personal status draft laws.
The minister expressed his appreciation for the role the pope plays in solving problems within the Coptic community. “The Orthodox Church has had proud national stances attested in the Egyptian history,” he said.
For his part, Pope Tawadros appreciated the minister’s eagerness to understand the church’s vision in this regard.
