The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, welcomed the participation of France in the opening ceremony of the New Suez canal on both the official and popular levels, stressing the importance of relations between the two countries and the importance of promoting them on political and economic levels.
Ambassador Alaa Youssef, spokesman for Egyptian Presidency, said that the meeting was held between President al-Sisi and Mr. Laurent Fabius, Foreign Minister of French, in the presence of Mr. Sameh Shoukry Egyptian Foreign Minister, Andre Baran, ambassador of France in Cairo, and Ambassador Jean-Francois Gero, French Director of North Africa and the Middle East.
It's worth mentioning that president Sisi assured the importance of the revival of Palestinian-Israeli negotiations and he stressed the importance of resuming the peace process and the establishment of the Palestinian state.
