CAIRO - Egypt's First Lady Suzanne Mubarak decided to launch a national subscription campaign to built an advanced cancer hospital in the 6th of October Governorate to replace the diaplating Cairo Tumours Institute.
The planned hospital, which will be built on an area of 50 acres, will be staffed by the best specialised medics and equipped with the latest state-of-the -art medical equipment to give high-quality treatment to patients, Mrs. Mubarak told a meeting attended by top Government officials on Tuesday.
She called on the Egyptians to contribute for building this hospital, which she said would be the most advanced and biggest medical centre for treating cancer patients in the Middle East and Africa.
"An area of 50 acres has been selected in the 6th of Oct. Governorate for building up the new hospital, which will be affiliated to the Cairo University," Mrs. Mubarak said after she toured the Children's Cancer Hospital in Cairo and inaugurated the new Cyclotron, and PT Scan sections.
