Beijing, China (CNN) -- Emergency crews have rescued 47 people from a plane that crashed Tuesday night in northeast China with more than 90 passengers aboard, state-run media said.
The Embraer 190 jet overshot the runway and caught fire when it was landing just after 10 p.m. Tuesday at the Yichun airport, state-run CCTV said. State-run Xinhua news agency said firefighters were still battling the blaze 90 minutes later.
The Henan Airlines flight took off from Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang province, on a short flight to Yichun City, 360 kilometers away (224 miles) away near the Russian border, Xinhua said.
