North Cairo Criminal Court has rejected Monday a complaint submitted by Egyptian Steel Tycoon Ahmed Ezz to lift a freeze order on his assets, Youm7 reported.
The ban on assets of Ezz and his family was imposed per a ruling by the Illicit Gains Authority over suspicions of profiteering and exploitation of influence.
Ezz, who was a prominent figure of the regime of former President Hosni Mubarak, was barred from running for the coming parliamentary elections per court ruling after he failed to provide a bank account that he is able to manage, also due to the Illicit Gains Authority ruling.
In February, Ezz appeared on TV, explaining his desire to participate in the development of the country from a legislative position.
