The mother of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi died early Monday at Galaa Military Hospital in Heliopolis, presidential sources told Youm7.
Souad Ibrahim’s funeral will be held at Field Marshal Hussein Tantawy’s Mosque in Cairo’s Fifth Settlement, where many funerals of late high-profile figures have been organized.
Ibrahim, who died in her 80s, never appeared before the media, and Sisi barely spoke of her.
In October 2013, Sisi told Al-Masry Al-Youm that he headed to his mother after released the statement of overthrowing President Mohamed Morsi July 3 because he is “closely attached” to her, and that she raised him to depend only on God and be content.
