After Mohamed Morsy won the presidential elections in July 2012, I was interviewed by Al Jazirah Qatari News Network to talk about the outcome of the elections. I mentioned several fears from the candidate of the Muslim Brotherhood who don’t believe in homelands or equal citizenship according the ideology of his terrorist group. I said that it’s really dangerous to have such a man with such ideas in the presidential palace, especially with the weak performance of the Muslim Brotherhood in the parliament.

The other guest who supports the Muslim Brotherhood tried to provoke me claiming that only Christians hate Mohamed Morsy. However, I said that if Morsy fulfills his promises to the Egyptian people and works for a civil state based on justice and equality, he will be then president for all Egyptians. I added that all Egyptians should support him then for the sake of Egypt. It’s not a matter of dispute over power, but rather a matter of developing our beloved homeland.
I remembered this interview while I was watching the comments of supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood on Facebook on the New Suez Canal Project. There is indeed a big difference between criticizing the project, and wishing its failure. They even published fake reports about the project in order to claim it’s failed. I know their way, but I couldn’t imagine they are so mean! They claimed a military coup is the reason behind all this hatred and malice against Egypt and the Egyptians.
Supports of Mubarak didn’t kill anybody and didn’t hate Egypt for overthrowing their president. Moreover, supporters of Shafik didn’t hate Egypt for forging the elections in favor of Morsy. Indeed, it’s so easy to believe in a conspiracy and destroy everything. This is the difference between those who love this country and those who consider belonging to this nation “nonsense”. Opposition may refer to warning against some danger that threatens our land. This is so different from wishing destruction and desolation to this nation. They didn’t learn patriotism to this nation, and they are so different from us.
