Egypt signs MoU with Singapore to establish 3 water desalination plants
Three desalination plants will be constructed by Egypt and Singapore, per a memorandum of understanding signed Sunday and witnessed by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, Youm7 reported.
 
Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish signed the MoU with the Singaporean Hyflux Ltd. for water solutions Sunday according to Mamish press statements in Singapore.
 
Mamish added that the first plant is to be established in Ain Sokhna, Suez governorate.
 
Sisi started his Asian tour by visiting Singapore Saturday; he will proceed to China and Indonesia.
 
According to MENA, this is the first visit for Sisi to Singapore and it coincides with the country’s 50thanniversary of independence and also the 50th anniversary for Egyptian-Singaporean diplomatic relations.
 
Sisi is also to hold meetings with President Tony Tan and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to discuss a number of issues, including port development and water desalination management, MENA quoted the presidential spokesperson Alaa Yousef Sunday.
